Program

This tour begins with a visit to San Pedro Alejandrino, an emblematic sugar cane farm where the Liberator Simon Bolivar died in December 1830. Here we go all over this place owned by Joaquín de Mier to see some objects and utensils that date back from the 18th century. One of them is the bed where Simon Bolivar passed away. Also, we have the chance to see other moments of his glorious life as a South American hero. A big memorial dedicated to him is a good example. In addition, we tour the Bolivarian Museum, located in these same premises. There, you can see how Bolivar’s life is depicted in different artworks. Later, we go to Santa Marta’s Historic Centre to visit the Cathedral, the oldest church in Colombia. After that, we take the 3rd Ave. to sightsee some places like Simon Bolivar Park, Los Novios” Park, the Palace of Justice, San Francisco Church and the Bay’s Esplanade. We will visit as well the Tayrona Gold Museum and the fisher town of Taganga with its beautiful viewpoint over the bay.
