Program description
Every year, between May and August, the Nuquí area and its surroundings beaches get the best swells which are registered in Colombia. This place has been classified as the new paradise for surfing and a must if you want to discover new high-quality waves in South America. Thanks to its prodigious geographical position, you will find here -during these months- excellent conditions for advanced surfers. In addition, because it is nestled between the majestic Choco jungle and the Pacific ocean, the beaches are practically untouched and uncrowded. You will have incredible surf spots at your entire disposal.
Every morning we depart by boat or by foot and with equipment on board in search of the best wave. Beachbreaks and reefbreaks with righthand and lefthand waves, await you to enjoy. This is home to the famous surf spot "Pico de Loro", without a doubt one of the most amazing surfing experiences in Colombia. Our guides will help you, once in the water, with the best recommendations. We have different types of surfboards according to the waves and style of each person.
The warm water all year round, the enchanting sunsets, the idyllic surroundings and the exquisite gastronomy will make your stay unforgettable. Itinerary Details
Day 1
Flight Medellín - Nuquí (ap. 45 min), boat transfer (ap. 40 min), hotel check-in and first surf session. We welcome you at Medellin airport. The journey to paradise is ready to start. After a 45 minutes flight and 40 minutes boat transfer, you will reach the wonderfully located Farm-Hostel, surrounded by dense green forest and enchanting beaches. In the afternoon first surf session.
Day 2
Surf guiding (Surf spot: Pico de Loro) y jungle excursion to the "Love" waterfall. Breakfast and surf guiding. Early in the morning with equipment and food on board, we will start our first boat trip to Cabo Corrientes, home of the famous surf spot "Pico de Loro". We will spend some hours there enjoying the best Colombian waves. In the afternoon you will discover the nearby jungle on an exciting excursion. A new adventure with wonderful experiences awaits you. You will have the opportunity to observe the immense biodiversity and listen to the whispers and hums of the jungle. We will reach a small waterfall, where you can cool off. At night, enjoy a well-deserved dinner.
Day 3
Surf guiding (Surf spot: Pico de Loro) and hike to the hot springs. After breakfast we will start our second boat trip to Cabo Corrientes. Once again we will enjoy the best waves at "Pico de Loro surf spot" in front of a stunning jungle. In the afternoon we will start a tour to the hot springs. Your guide knows exactly the path and will lead you there. Time to relax. Later you can continue enjoying the beach or book another activities.
Day 4
Surf guiding and afternoon at leasure. Breakfast and last surf session. Early in the morning we will enjoy the last waves in one of the breaks of the surroundings. Afternoon at leisure. You can start some optional activities to discover the amazing nature of the area..
Day 5
Departure: Adiós Nuquí!. It's time to say goodbye today. Transfer to the airport and flight to Medellín. End of the program.

Only beween Febraury and Mai. April is the month with the biggest swells. Daily start from Medellín Airport (OAH).

Accommodation
Terquito beach - the hotel area - is 30 min. by boat, a little apart in the middle of the jungle. We offer the following accommodations:

Farm hostel: accommodation in shared rooms. Family hostel, very clean and well maintained. Beachfront. The manager is a surfer, fisherman and boat pilot from the region.

Ecolodge: accommodation in private rooms. As well very close to the waves with seaview
Recommendations
Sun protection, constant hydration, bring some cash (there are no ATMs or banks in the area), and repellent.
Surf Guiding
The program includes 4 x Surf Guiding Tours incl. equipment, surf coach and 2 boat trips (40 min. one way) to the surf spot "Pico de Loro". You can use the equipment any time.
Requirements
Only for adults (18 years old), children only in company with their parents, no chronic disease and good swimming skills.
Vaccination
We advise to get the yellow fever vaccine. This must be applied at least 10 days before the trip.
Meals
All meals are included in the program. If you required special food (vegetarian, vegan) or suffer from allergies, please inform us before starting the tour.
Nearby places and activities of interest
The next town is Termales, an Afro-Colombian community. From Terquito Beach you can start many activities: Utria National Park tour, mangroves canoe tours, birdwatching, frogwatching, hot springs tours, indigenous community tours, hikes through the jungle, surfing, snorkeling or diving, kayaking and fishing.
National flights Medellín - Nuquí - Medellín
This flight is not included in the program. Charter flights to and from Nuquí are usually very early and only once a day. 10 kg luggage and 5 kg hand luggage per person are allowed. Satena and Grupo San German airlines offer flights every week.
Communication
The cell phone signal is weak. We recommend telling your family that you will be absent during the days of the tour.
