Program description

Minca is a small town located just 20 km. from Santa Marta and at 600 m. above sea level. Its transitional climate and the Minca River provides the town with a lustful vegetation and make it habitat of numerous exotic bird species, many of them endemic.

We first visit “La Victoria”, an organic coffee farm located at 900 m. of altitude. This farm has one of the most efficient processing systems in Colombia. Micky Weber, German owner, fixed machines that date back from 1892, turning this place in an authentic living museum. His creative gears helped the farm to be self-sufficient in things like electricity and compost for the crops to name a few. Everything is produced at La Victoria. In a two-hour approx. tour we know the ingenious processing of coffee “La Victoria 1892”, from harvest to your cup. Later, we start a hike through a natural trail until to reach some waterfalls, where we have the chance to take a refreshing bath . Returning to town we make a stopover to visit a famous local restaurant, knownfor its chorizos and smoked fish.
