Program description
The Cabo de la Vela is a majestic place located approximately 163 km from Riohacha. Here, the exotic beaches of the Caribbean Sea converge with a large coastal desert making a unique visual experience of contrasting colors. This zone of the Caribbean hosts many arid landscapes that cannot be found anywhere else.
The indigenous people that inhabit the zone (the Wayúus people) call this place “Jepirra”, which they believe is a sacred location where deceased spirits travel to the unknown afterlife. The Cabo de la Vela is considered to be one of the must-see places of interest by travelers, as well as being a popular sight for Colombians.
